Today we are beyond excited to premiere a brand new track from the soundtrack of the upcoming film Bridge and Tunnel. Slip on your pirate boots and swing your oversized beer-mugs along to Dan Pursino’s swashbucklingly sentimental “Wild Hogs” below. While you’re at it, check out some commentary below regarding the song’s significance to the film from Dan and director of Bridge and Tunnel, Jason Michael Brescia.
“I was on set a few times overnight at the Leaky Lifeboat in Seaford and Stingers in Rockville Centre and I saw what hard work they put into this film, so I wanted to write a song that gave almost a celebration vibe to it for the cast and crew to enjoy. I’m a big fan of the Dropkick Murphy’s and Flogging Molly and I know Jason’s a huge Andrew WK fan so I wanted to make something that drew from that but also fit with the seafaring theme that possesses much of the soundtrack.”
Jason Michael Brescia:
“So much of Bridge and Tunnel takes place in bars, the way so much of my life on Long Island has. On the surface “Wild Hogs” may seem like absurd pirate-rock however, within the context of the film the bar that the main characters hang out and work at is called Captain Kidd’s, an ode to the 17th century rogue British naval officer of the same name. I designed much of the soundtrack inside Captain Kidd’s to have the intensity of traditional bucaneer music fused with the energy of pub rock.”
