Tony Hawks Pro Skater 5 Soundtrack Revealed

Growing up as a skater kid in the late 90s and early 2000s meant to grew up listening to punk and maybe dabbling in some hip hop. And the Tony Hawks Pro Skater franchise was directly responsible for that and the THPS series became iconic for its soundtracks (I can’t hear Police Truck without thinking about smashing windows in Minneapolis to collect big floaty yellow letters). And now Pro Skater 5, has its sound.

The man himself Tony Hawk posted the setlist on his instagram which can be seen below.

For those with not the best eyesight, it looks like this:

  • Anti-Flag – “Stars and Stripes”
  • Atmosphere – “Southsiders”
  • Black Pistol Fire – “Hipster Shakes”
  • Bully – “Milkman”
  • Cloud Nothings – “I’m Not Part of Me”
  • Cold Cave – “A Little Death to Laugh”
  • Connie Price and the Keystones – “International Hustler”
  • Crass Mammoth – “All 149”
  • Deaf Poets – “Degenerate Mind”
  • Death – “Keep on Knocking”
  • Death From Above 1979 – “Virgins”
  • Deer Mother – “When the Wolves Come Out”
  • Doom Tree – “Mini Brute”
  • Fake P – “Rorschach”
  • Family Force 5 – “Raised By Wolves”
  • Four Year Strong – “Go Down In History”
  • Harlan – “Moment To Myself”
  • Hundred Visions – “Our Ritual”
  • Hungry Hands – “Highline”
  • Icon For Hire – “Cynics and Critics”
  • Killer Be Killed – “Wings of Feather and Wax”
  • New Politics – “Everywhere I Go”
  • Plague Vender – “Black Sap Scriptures”
  • Ratatat – “Cream on Chrome”
  • Rattblack – “Skate Rock”
  • Royal Blood – “Little Monster”
  • State Champs – “Secrets”
  • Temples – “Shelter Song”
  • The Orwells – “Who Needs You”
  • The Schitzophonics – “Rat Trap”
  • The Sheds – “Bad Things Are Bad”
  • Yogi & Skrillex – “Burial”

Again taking a good mix of stuff but this time perhaps a more eclectic range than the past. Though Millencolin and The High And Mighty (featuring Mos Def and Mad Skillz of course) are very different, they did work together in a playlist. We shall just have to wait and see if Anti-Flag and Cold Cave can do the same.

What was your favourite Tony Hawks soundtrack?

(Mine was either Pro Skater 1 or 4. Suicide Machines, Goldfinger and Dead Kennedys were the foundation of my love of punk. But how I did love hearing Aesop Rock followed by Flogging Molly, Less Than Jake and Iron Maiden whilst doing 360 nosegrabs in an Alcatraz prison block to please ghosts… happy days -Ryan).
