It’s February 15th, also known as the day after Valentine’s Day, also known as the day the value packs of heart-shaped Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups go on sale for at least half off and every drug store in the country. Whether you hate that you love the black Friday of Hallmark stores or you love to hate its capitalist schemes, this blessed time of cheap candy and corny trinkets is something we can all appreciate. To celebrate, we’ve put together a playlist of our favorite angsty teenager-era anti-Valentine’s Day anthems for your enjoyment. Follow us on Spotify for more playlists and comment your addition to the list below!

As 2014 comes to a close, I look back on how amazing The Daily Slice’s first year has been. We’ve interviewed some amazing artists, started important conversations, and shed light on some incredible music. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with the best staff I could have ever asked for, and, if you couldn’t tell, our taste in music as a group is kind of all over the place.
As we ring in the new year, and prepare to start our second year as a team (including some brand new members!), we want to show all of you the diversity of our musical preferences by sharing our favorite songs of 2014 with you. Check them out below, and let us know your favorites in the comments!
Thank you for a great first year as a site, and I can’t wait to share our plans for 2015 with all of you. Happy New Year!

Following the kick off of the pre-order for their upcoming album, American Beauty/American Psycho (due out January 20th), Fall Out Boy have released a music video for the title track. Check it out below.
Fall Out Boy’s highly anticipated album, American Beauty/American Psycho is available for pre-order both digitally on iTunes (with an instant download of “The Kids Aren’t Alright,” “American Beauty/American Psycho,” and “Centuries”) and as a bundle in the band’s gomerch store.
The album is officially due to be released on January 20th. From what I’ve heard so far, the album’s going to be fantastic and is going to be a great way to kick off the new year.
